What is chlorophyll and what is photosynthesis
Chlorophyll and chlorophyll are red-shifted chlorophylls, because their Qy absorption bands are significantly red-shifted compared with chlorophyll . The red-shifted chlorophylls broaden the light absorption region further into far red light. The presence of red-shifted chlorophylls in photosynthetic systems has opened up new possibilities of research on photosystem energetics and challenged the unique status of chlorophyll in oxygenic photosynthesis. In this review, we report on the chemistry and function of red-shifted chlorophylls in photosynthesis and summarise the unique adaptations that have allowed the proliferation of chlorophyll - and chlorophyll -containing organisms in diverse ecological niches around the world.
There are actually 2 main types of chlorophyll, named and . They differ only slightly, in the composition of a sidechain (in it is -CH3, in it is CHO). Both of these two chlorophylls are very effective photoreceptors because they contain a network of alternating single and double bonds, and the orbitals can delocalise stabilising the structure. Such delocalised polyenes have very strong absorption bands in the visible regions of the spectrum, allowing the plant to absorb the energy from sunlight.
Chlorophyll is essential in photosynthesis, ..
Four things are needed to make this process work and this gives two thing: the four things needed are light from the sun, carbon dioxide diffuses from the air, water from the soil and chlorophyll in the leaves....
This action also causes the pigment of leaves, or green plants to change its' color, and there for, in Autum the leaves change its color to orange, red, yellow etc.
Why do leaves change its color?
During the spring and summer the leaves make most of their food that is necessary for the rest of the year, as during those periods there is more sunlight which means that the action of photosynthesis occurs more often.
The function of the vast majority of chlorophyll ..
When photosynthesis takes place, plants use the suns energy to combine carbon dioxide from the air with water from the soil to create glucose (a carbohydrate)....
The three major classes of pigments are chlorophylls (green pigments) and carotenoids (yellow or orange pigments) which are lipophilic and associated in Chl-protein complexes as well as phycobilins that are hydrophilic.

Chlorophyll molecules are contained inside chloroplasts, ..
Photosynthesis doesn't only occur in plants, but also in bacteria, algi etc.
Due to the changes of length of day-time, as well as different temperature levels, the leaves/ plants stop their process of making food.

During most of the year these colors are technically hidden by great amounts of green coloring.
What are chlorophylls?
1) What are chlorophyll's?
2) Why do leaves change color?
3) What does photosynthesis mean?
4) When does the process of photosynthesis stop (hint* what seasons)?

Chlorophyll - School of Chemistry
It's basically a group of green pigments used by organisms that convert sunlight into energy via photosynthesis.
The word 'Chlorophylls' was invented in 1819, it derives from the Greek words khloros, meaning "pale green" and phyllon, meaning "a leaf." Plants use chlorophyll to use and trap the energy from the sun.
Chlorophyll: Structure and Function
There are four things that are required by the plant before it can carry out photosynthesis, they are light, chlorophyll, carbon dioxide and water ....
Scheer H (1991) Structure and occurrence of chlorophylls
Variables: The variables that might affect the rate of photosynthesis in this experiment are: Temperature: When the temperature rises so does the rate of photosynthesis; this is because as the temperature around the plant rises the enzymes controlling photosynthesis inside the chloroplasts heat up and start moving around faster, the fast moving molecules collide with other fast moving enzymes causing them to react....
of the chlorophylls plus beta carotene ..
Theaccessory pigment role is a singlet-singlet energy transfer from thecarotenoid to the bacteriochlorophyll, while the protective role is atriplet-triplet energy transfer from the bacteriochlorophyll to thecarotenoid.
